ReShare Returnables 1.2 – March 31, 2021

This release will include additional features needed by our early implementers.

  • Create requests via the staff interface
  • Manage requests for locally available items
  • ILS integrations – Sierra, FOLIO, Symphony
  • Integration with external shared inventories
  • Planning for ILLiad add-ons (with Atlas Systems)

ReShare Returnables 1.1 – November 30, 2020

After the MVP release, ReShare will continue to develop new features to support consortial lending of returnables, with a focus on the needs of early implementers.

  • ILS integrations: WorldShare Management Services
  • Email service for notices
  • Due dates and overdue status
  • Display and search by item barcode
  • Check for blocked patron status
  • Propagation of directory metadata across the consortium

ReShare 1.0 (Minimum viable product) – July 31, 2020

The ReShare 1.0 release is intended to be a minimum viable product that supports requesting and supplying of physical materials among the members of a consortium. The 1.0 release will be suitable for testing and initial implementation, with important enhancements to follow in future releases. Features for the 1.0 release include:

  • OAI-PMH endpoint for shared index metadata
  • Customizable VuFind consortial discovery tool
  • ILS integrations: Aleph
  • Pull slip notification settings
  • Patron notice settings
  • Load balancing using lend-to-borrow ratios
  • Library service statuses
  • Permissions

ReShare Beta – April 30, 2020

ReShare Beta added a number of enhancements to the foundation laid by the Alpha release, including increased support for error handling and integrations. Specific features included:

  • Shared index match optimizations
  • Shared index deleted record management
  • Shared index lending status flag
  • Request confirmation screens
  • NCIP integration with Alma
  • Requester-Supplier messaging
  • Tags helper app
  • “Update” app for bulk record processing
  • Cancellations
  • Conditional replies
  • Directory edit screens
  • Request routing optimizations

ReShare Alpha – January 31, 2020

The ReShare Alpha release demonstrated the ability to perform a resource sharing transaction from end to end under normal conditions. Specific features included:

  • Harvest of bibliographic, holdings, and item records into the shared index
  • Matching and clustering records in the shared index
  • Simple VuFind discovery tool for test purposes
  • Single sign-on integration pilot
  • Service type and state model for physical loans
  • Submit request via OpenURL
  • Create request record
  • Create lending string and assign request to a supplier
  • Generate and print pull slips
