ReShare 1.0 (Minimum viable product) – July 31, 2020
The ReShare 1.0 release is intended to be a minimum viable product that supports requesting and supplying of physical materials among the members of a consortium. The 1.0 release will be suitable for testing and initial implementation, with important enhancements to follow in future releases. Features for the 1.0 release include:
- OAI-PMH endpoint for shared index metadata
- Customizable VuFind consortial discovery tool
- ILS integrations: Aleph
- New pull slip notifications
- Basic due date management
- Basic patron notices
- Load balancing using lend-to-borrow ratios
- Library service statuses
- Permissions
ReShare 1.1 – October 30, 2020
After our MVP release, ReShare will continue to develop new features to support consortial lending of returnables, with a focus on the needs of our early implementers.
- Block requesting of locally available items
- Ability to attach more than one item to a request
- Create patron accounts, individually and in bulk
- ILS integrations: WorldShare Management Services
ReShare 1.2 – January 31, 2021
This release will include additional features needed by our early implementers.

ReShare Controlled Digital Lending MVP – Fall 2020
ReShare plans to develop a minimum viable product to support controlled digital lending, the process of digitizing a physical item and lending a secure, electronic copy in its place. This release will be scoped to support CDL within a single library.

ReShare Alpha – January 31, 2020
The ReShare Alpha release demonstrated the ability to perform a resource sharing transaction from end to end under normal conditions. Specific features included:
- Harvest of bibliographic, holdings, and item records into the shared index
- Matching and clustering records in the shared index
- Simple VuFind discovery tool for test purposes
- Single sign-on integration pilot
- Service type and state model for physical loans
- Submit request via OpenURL
